The Smiths Falls Welcomes Ukraine Committee is looking for people from the area to host Ukrainian families displaced by the war. If you are interested in becoming a host family, please click on the Get in Touch link below, and you will be redirected to the appropriate intake form.
A Host Family must commit to a 6mo.-12 mo. time frame. We are creating a support network for families arriving, it’s a lot of work, and organizing many hands to do the work right is the job of our Committee. If you have questions, please contact us.
SmithsFallsWelcomesUkraine.com is our website. There you will find volunteer forms, host family information, resource information and links to government and local efforts. We are in process of translating the site for ease of use for those lacking strength in English.
What does the process of Host Family look like?
We have people within our Committee that will contact you after you fill out the form on our website. You will be provided with added information, and you will need to meet with us, and also provide us with a home visit opportunity. We want to assure a great match up for you as a Host Family, and so, there is much preparation and information that is exchanged so that happens in a smooth way.
